Books I’ve Read 2020

I shouldn’t be surprised that I only read 4 books with everything that happened in 2020, but I am. I started a few books and didn’t finish some. I tried to get into e-books since the library was closed, but I’m still not a fan of long reads on screens. But here are the four books I read:

  • Children of Vengeance and Virtue by Tomi Adeyemi
  • A Dream So Dark by L.L. McKinney
  • My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
  • The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

My favorite would have to be The Vanishing Half. It was well-written and the characters were interesting. It was a beautiful and complex story. Definitely worth the read!

Children of Vengeance and Virtue and A Dream So Dark are both sequels or Book 2’s in their own amazing series. Both are young adult novels, but if action, adventure, and magic are your jams, you’ll enjoy these reads even if Young Adult isn’t usually your thing. Children of Blood and Bone precedes Children of Vengeance and Virtue and A Blade So Black precedes A Dream So Dark. Fun fact – The Nightmare Verse Series (A Black So Black and A Dream So Dark) are an Alice in Wonderland retelling.

My Sister, the Serial Killer was such a fun and frustrating book. It was so good. I wish it had ended differently, but it’s a nice read.

Hopefully next year, I can do my usual lists and categories like my top 5 reads, which books made me cry, seeing how many young adult books I read vs adult fiction books, and etc.

Here’s an old Books I’ve Read post from my time on Tumblr: https://ivegotstoriestotell.tumblr.com/post/181591686220/books-ive-read-2018

And as always, happy reading!
